We recommend a gravel bike with at least 38mm tires. Mountain bikes work great too! Any bike you are comfortable riding, and is capable of mixed-surface terrain, will work great.

Call us with questions:
540-900-5020.

I’m new, will I be able to do this ride?

New gravel riders should join us in Bedford, as this is our most beginner-friendly option. Be ready to be on your bike for 1.5 to 2 hours with some climbing. If you are not quite at this level, join our Tuesday rides (starting in March) to prepare.

Gravel can be slower and more challenging than road riding, so keep that in mind when selecting a route. Each Gravel Camp ride gets progressively more challenging to help you build your fitness over time.

Consider a
skills session to get comfortable with off-road riding.

I have been riding for a long time, will this be too easy?

Our Grande Traverse and Super Grande Traverse routes will challenge most experienced riders.

What do I need to carry with me on these rides?

While we will have mechanics and food on course, you should always carry your own food and repair kit. At a minimum, you should be prepared with the following.

  • 2 water bottles
  • Snacks
  • Spare tube
  • CO2 or pump
  • Tire levers
  • Multi tool
  • An extra layer

What happens if it rains?

We ride rain or shine! These gravel routes ride great in wet weather.
